The University has generated location specific farm technology to cater the needs of the farming community in the Konkan region. Manifold efforts have been made for the speedy transfer of the generated technology to the farmers. However, yet the desired results have not been achieved. So, the University proposed the concept of Mobile Agri-polyclinic to provide services, supplies and information at the door steps of the farmers. Accordingly, the proposal was sent to the District Co-operative Banks of all the four districts in Konkan region for Rs. 16.40 lakh for the purchase of Mobile Van and equipments, audio visual aids required for soil and water analysis, disease and pest diagnosis and also communication of technology. Fortunately, the Presidents and Directors of the District Co-operative Banks of Ratnagiri, Thane and Sindhudurg districts have very kindly agreed for providing the financial support for this innovative concept.
