Seedlings are prepared by using mother of cloves. Sown immediately after harvesting. Big sized seeds are used. Seedlings are prepared in polybags. Maintained in nursery for 1.5 to 2 years.

  Plant Protection measures
 
Leaf rot - 0.1% carbendazim spray or 0.2% Dithane M – 45 spray at 20 days interval. Stem borer – Swab the stem surface with water soluble carbaryl dust or Nuvan (0.05%)

First Year – 10kg FYM + 20:20:50g NPK, 10th Year – 50kg FYM – 200:200:200g NPK
   
  Harvesting
 
Buds are harvested when they are fully developed during January to March. Colour of bud becomes pale green with pink/yellow tinge. Buds are plucked by hand or by a pruner. Dried in sun for 7 days..
