  Varieties Released 
 
A. Nutmeg :

Konkan Sugandha: High yielding variety. Bears male and female flowers on same plant. Average yield 525 fruits/year. Medium sized nut of 5.25 g.

Konkan Swad: High yielding variety. Bears only female flowers. Yields 740 fruits/year. Medium sized nut of 5.82 g.

B. Cinnamon :

Konkan Tej: High bark yielding variety with excellent quality. Yields 250-300 grams fresh bark. Contains 3% oil in bark. The bark oil contains 70.23% cinnamaldehyde and 6.93%Engenol.

C.Kokam :

Konkan Amruta: High yielding variety. Bears female flowers. Early variety. Yields 100-130 kg fruits/tree/year. Fruit is round apple shape weighing 349 grams with thick dark rind. Fruit has good keeping quality.

   
  Technologies Developed
 

A. Black Pepper :

For rapid multiplication of black pepper a soil mound technique has been recommended. In this technique a soil mound of the size 2.5 x 0.60 cm (45 Degree Angle) is prepared. The rooted cuttings of black pepper are planted at the base of this mound at 15 cm distance. The irrigation is provided by overhead sprinklers. A vigorous growth of black pepper on the mound results in 73 rooted cuttings per vine per year.

B. Disease Control :

Black Pepper: For control of quick and slow wilt the following package of practices are recommended
1. 1% Bordeaux spray twice during June at 15 days interval.
2. Application of 1 kg Neem Cake + 50 grams Trichoderma Viride per vine in the last week of June and September.
